Mortgage servicing call center brings jobs to Taos
2004-10-29 09:03:06

The Harlan, Iowa company says it plans, ultimately, to employ up to 150 "fully licensed bilingual insurance agents" at a new facility, reported to cost about $2.8 million, which is scheduled to become operational during the current quarter of 2004, according to a prepared statement. Hiring is expected to start immediately.

After competing over a several month period with a dozen cities in Arizona, California and Texas, Taos won the customer service center.

The state's Economic Development Department and New Mexico's Economic Development Partnership were involved in the win, which was first mentioned on Sept. 23 by Gov. Bill Richardson when he spoke at a conference sponsored by CiDirect's parent firm, ZC Sterling.  New Mexico Business Weekly
